The Ingredients Within: Reiki Session
Everything in the universe, including ourselves, is made up of energy. Reiki is a powerful and gentle healing practice that works with this energy to bring balance and well-being to the body, mind, and spirit. Developed by Master Mikao Usui over 200 years ago, Reiki comes from the Japanese words “Rei” (meaning Universal) and “Ki” (meaning Life Energy). It is a universal energy that flows freely and is not tied to any specific religion or belief system.
At its core, Reiki helps guide healing energy to areas of imbalance or blockages in the body. Through the use of gentle touch and specific hand placements, Reiki aids in realigning and balancing your energetic field. Whether you are experiencing physical pain, emotional distress, or simply a need for deep relaxation, Reiki supports you in returning to a state of harmony and vitality.

Before Your Session:
✨ Intake Forms: You’ll receive an email with intake forms to complete and send back before your appointment. This helps me understand your needs and prepare for your session.
✨ Prepare Your Body: Make sure to eat and drink well before your session to avoid any distractions from hunger or thirst. Use the restroom beforehand and remove any jewelry or shoes so you can feel comfortable and at ease.
✨ Relax and Reflect: Take 10-15 minutes to get comfortable and settle into a peaceful state, whether sitting or lying down. This helps you enter the session feeling grounded and ready to receive healing energy.
During Your Session:
✨ In-Person Sessions: If you’re attending a session in person, you’ll lie fully clothed on the Reiki table, face down. Reiki energy will be channeled through light touch, crystals, and other healing tools as needed. If you have any specific needs or concerns that might make this position uncomfortable, let me know during the intake process so we can adjust accordingly.
✨ Distance Sessions: If your session is remote, you’ll be guided to sit or lie down comfortably in your own space. I will use a Reiki distance chart as a surrogate to send energy to you, while still incorporating healing tools like crystals.
✨ Your Experience: Reiki is a deeply personal experience, and how you feel during the session can vary from person to person. Some may fall into a relaxed sleep-like state, while others might feel sensations like warmth, coolness, or tingling as the energy flows. It’s also possible that you might not feel anything during the session, but notice a profound sense of calm or relief afterward, as if you’ve just had a restorative nap.
After Your Session:
✨ Hydrate: Regardless of how you feel during or immediately after the session, it’s important to drink plenty of water. Reiki works by moving energy through your body, and staying hydrated helps support the detoxification process.
✨ Healing and Detoxing: Some people experience a detox effect after a Reiki session. You might feel unusually tired, or find yourself using the restroom more often as stagnant energy is released. This is completely normal, so be patient and gentle with yourself as your body clears out old energies.
✨ Subjective Experience: Everyone’s Reiki experience is different. You may not feel anything dramatic after your first session, but that doesn’t mean the energy hasn’t been working. Many find it helpful to begin with 3 sessions to fully assess how Reiki has supported them over time. Sometimes, healing happens subtly, and after a few sessions, you might notice improvements in areas you didn’t initially focus on.
